Course Information

We lay the foundations of photography by teaching the basic principals, how to work around basics and when to ignore all rules.

Theory is supplemented with practical shooting during lessons.

When you are ready to fully appreciate and use your camera to its full potential, this is the course for you.

Duration: 5 weeks (Weekend Course Available)

Minimum requirements: Digital SLR Camera, Tripod35mm / 55mm and or Zoom lens.

Students must be able to attend classes in Pretoria. 

Cost:
R 1 950 - 5 weeks course
R 1 850 - Weekend course.

Max 4 students per class ensure personal attention.

 

 

Course Contents

Module 1 - Learn your camera.
We look at all the functions your camera have and where to adjust them.

Module 2 - Shutter speed. To fully understand shutter, we discover fast and slow shutters, where and why they are used and how to get amazing movement in your pictures.

Module 3 - Aperture & Depth of Field has many more uses than to blur the background. We find the other use for them

Module 4 - Light metering. Your camera has an amazing light meter - learn where to take a reading and how to add mood to your pictures.

Module 5 - Composition. Two third rule is ok, but using composition to tell stories is much more fun.

 

 

 

 

 

 

FAQ's

I know nothing about photography?

Perfect, learning the basics from scratch is the best way to build a strong foundation for your photography.

Do I need a camera to attend class?

Yes. We shoot a lot during class so that I can see you know what I am talking about in the theory.

Can I use a Digital compact?

SLR cameras are preferred, but many brilliant pictures were taken using a compact camera. Just ensure your compact has a Manuel setting.

How does payment work?

50% of fee with registration, balance at first lesson. Please note, we hate cheques with a passion.
