Course Information

This course teaches the basic functions of Photoshop. Perfectly suited for newcomers to Photoshop, you will learn hands on how to handle images, adjust levels, set contrast, basic retouching and isolating colour in black and white pictures, just to name a few. File handling techniques explained.

Duration:6 Hours 

Minimum requirements: Good computer skills. A good basic photographic knowledge.

Cost: R 600 Photoshop for photographers.

Only 4 students per class ensure full personal attention.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Course Contents

Module 1 - Openings images & sizing.
Learn the buttons of Photoshop. Opening and saving images with Photoshop

Module 2 - Levels and contrast.
Adjusting exposure levels, curves, gamma. Creating black and white from colour images

Module 3 - Clone tool and retouching.
Basic retouching of faces, healing brush. Adding text and elements onto images

Module 4 - Isolating colour in black & white.
Lasso tools, magic wand, hue & saturation. 

Module 5 - Filters Photographic filters, artistic filters, Basic designs

Module 6 - Final output.
Preparing images for print, creating web images, creating PDF

FAQ's

I know nothing about photography?

Perfect, learning the basics from scratch is the best way to build a strong foundation for your photography.

Do I need a camera to attend class?

Yes. We shoot a lot during class so that I can see you know what I am talking about in the theory.

Can I use a Digital compact?

SLR cameras are preferred, but many brilliant pictures were taken using a compact camera. Just ensure your compact has a Manuel setting.

How does payment work?

50% of fee with registration, balance at first lesson. Please note, we hate cheques with a passion.
