Course Information

Setting up a studio can be very costly if you are not sure what you will need.
This course teaches you the basic equipment needed to start a studio, where to place what and studio safety. 

Join the thousands of strobists by learning how to assemble and build your own equipment using materials found in hardware stores. 

Learn handy hints from our fully equipped studio.

 

Duration: 4 Hours 

Minimum requirements: A good basic photographic knowledge

Cost: R 950 

Max 6 students per class ensure full personal attention

Course Contents

Module 1 - Studio floor plan.
Minimum measurements for a studio Design a floor plan for your studio

Module 2 - Lighting equipment.
Daylight lighting, fixed lighting. Hotspots

Module 3 - Infinite curves.
Building a photographic wall. Backdrop handling & storage.

Module 4 - Diffusers, reflectors & filters.
Build your own soft boxes, make filters.

Module 5 - Props & furniture.
Storage problems pointed out. 

Module 6 - Safety.

FAQ's

I know nothing about photography?

Perfect, learning the basics from scratch is the best way to build a strong foundation for your photography.

Do I need a camera to attend class?

Yes. We shoot a lot during class so that I can see you know what I am talking about in the theory.

Can I use a Digital compact?

SLR cameras are preferred, but many brilliant pictures were taken using a compact camera. Just ensure your compact has a Manuel setting.

How does payment work?

50% of fee with registration, balance at first lesson. Please note, we hate cheques with a passion.
